Accounting and Billing

Technesis print tracking is switched from passive to active with billing. Workstation billing is a prominent feature of the Technesis Print Control System. Billing requirements are configured centrally and and billing popups are presented at the workstations. The advantage with Technesis' technology is that each workstation stores the billing data so the printed documents are billed locally then uploaded. Here are more productive features for the end user and makes their billing experience a matter of seconds per print.

  • Batch bill : When checked, the next set of documents printed to the same printer are billed to the same account unless the user intervenes to rebill. Batch billing remains in effect until the user changes the printer, or a timeout is reached.
  • Rules based billing : There may be only a handful of requirements for billing, such as only certain accounts are used for certain groups or users, or when only color prints need to be billed. With Technesis, these requirements can easily be managed useing rules based billing.
  • Autocomplete : When a user starts typing, Technesis Popup automatically searches the list for accounts matching the letters or numbers entered.
  • Favorites view : When a user sets up their favorites for billing, Technesis Popup only displays that list rather than the entire list of accounts.

Billing for local, USB, TCP/IP and remote printers

Billing Pop-up This configuration is setup for organizations that require billing for any type of printers, whether they are local printers, USB printers, remote printers, print queues or networked printers. Technesis SmartPrint Client + Technesis Popup is installed on workstations with Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems.

Billing for Windows Print Server based printers

This configuration is the most common setup for organizations that use Windows Print Servers for their printer sharing. Technesis SmartPrint Server is installed on the Windows Print Servers and Technesis Popup is installed on the workstations. Billing at the Windows Print Server level is support with Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Print Servers, working alongside Technesis Popup that is supported on workstations with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows XP64, Windows Vista64, or MAC OS X operating systems. Technesis Popup and SmartPrint work well together in the same print environment so that prints are not double billed
